Information for Editors

Roles, responsibilities and how editorial work flows in the system.

Editorial roles

Editor-in-Chief
Sees all manuscripts, assigns handling editors and records the scientific decision (accept, minor or major revision, reject) with a letter to the author.
Associate / Section Editor
Handles assigned manuscripts only: invites reviewers, reads the reports and sends a recommendation to the Editor-in-Chief.
Journal Manager
Runs the screening stage (return to author, desk reject), manages issues, articles, news, users and settings. Does not make post-review scientific decisions.
Copyeditor / Production Editor
Works only on accepted manuscripts: language editing, proofs and the final files. Has no access to peer-review material.
Publisher Administrator
Oversees issues and news; has no access to manuscripts.

Principles

  • Declare any conflict of interest; an editor who is an author or conflicted cannot handle a manuscript.
  • Keep manuscripts, reviewer identities and reports confidential.
  • Double-blind review: reviewers receive only the anonymized manuscript.
  • Decisions are recorded with a reason and are kept in the audit trail.

See the peer review process and publication ethics. Editorial roles are granted by the journal office; Login Help explains how to request one.
